2020-12-28 6061 is an alloy that consists of aluminum, magnesium and silicone and is considered to be superior to 7005, made of aluminum and zinc, although the latter appears to be more resistant. 7005 aluminum has a resistance to failure of 51,000 psi, compared to the 45,000 psi recorded for 6061 aluminum while also being more resistant to squeeze.
评论数: 11Ride. Due to its inherent hardness, 7005 aluminum bikes feel rougher when you ride them. You might not realize it, but bike frames bend when you ride the bike. They absorb bumps and road vibration. The 6061 alloy is softer, making the bike's ride more
Aluminium alloy 7005, as Alloy 6061, It is thermally hardenable. However, Unlike alloy 6061, which requires a fairly rapid and intensive water quenching when heat treatment, alloy 7005 In this case sufficient cooling air. Some of the major manufacturers of
2006-5-22 6061 (aluminum/magnesium/silicon alloy) is generally considered superior to 7005 (aluminum/zinc alloy), though in some respects 7005 can be stronger. The tensile strength of 7005-T6 is 51,000 psi vs 45,000 psi for 6061-T6. Yield strengths are 42,000 psi vs 40,000 psi, respectively.
User Interaction Count: 42009-12-29 I'm not sure if you mean 7005 or 7075 vs. 6061, but my understanding of it, (generally speaking), is that 6061 is more durable in a fatigue sense, and that 7075 is actually stronger than 6061, but is somewhat more likely to fail years down the road when fatigue becomes more severe.

2008-2-2 The first is, they all make good frames as long as the manufacturer is doing their part in the design department. And the second being, my butt can't tell the difference between a well exicuted 6061, 7005, or 7075 frame. How long a frame made of any of the above will last is a toss up. All aluminium frames will break eventually.
User Interaction Count: 282014-4-3 I think with the proper heat treating 6061 will be stronger than 7005, but the heat treating is expensive. For instance, most department store aluminum bikes are 7005 (not to say that some expensive frames aren't though) and Cannondales for example use 6061.

De treksterkte van 7005 is ongeveer 13% hoger dan die van 6061 en dat zul je waarschijnlijk niet merken. In productie: veel.

Aluminum 7075-T6 is the al7075 with a T6 temper which is achieved by solution treatment and artificial aging make the 7075 aluminum at 450 ℃ for several hours quenching and then artificially aging it at 120 ℃ for 24 hours which is around the time when it meets standard property.
2010-9-28 For 7005 the major alloying element is Zinc. The mechanical properties of the two materials aren't that different. 7005 has a little better mechanical properties. 6061 yield 255MPa. 7005 yield 290MPa. The modulus of elasticity is nearly identical and therefore bikes made out of 6061 or 7005 with the same tube dimensions will have the same ride ...

2021-11-11 Since I have new aluminum alloy model on the drawing board, here is a brief coverage of key considerations in aluminum alloy frame construction behind the production of these frames.. Grades of Aluminum Alloy. 7005 is the grade of aluminum alloy I use for my frames. Most manufacturers of alloy high-end frames in Taiwan use this, whereas China-based manufacturers will mainly employ 6061.
2017-11-1 re: what is the difference between 6061 t6 compared to 7005 aluminum In laymen's terms (from my own research), 6061 is going to have a bit more give before it fails; 7075 will be a bit more rigid. This makes 7075 more similar to tempered steel (snaps instead of bends).
